EXPERIENCE THE BEAUTY AND TRADITION OF GREEK ORTHODOXY

TOUR OUR BEAUTIFUL CATHEDRAL

Greek immigrants started arriving and settling in Atlanta in the 1890’s. Along with their culture, they carried with them their Orthodox faith which is beautifully manifested in our byzantine cathedral.

Experience 2,000 years of Christian history, tour intricate mosaic icons that stand 22 feet high and 10 ½ feet wide! Listen to our byzantine chanters and choir performances and don’t forget to look up. The magnificent icon of Christ that spans the dome of our cathedral is sure to take your breath away!

What is Orthodoxy?

The Eastern Orthodox Church teaches that it is the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church established by Jesus Christ in his Great Commission to the apostles. It practices what it understands to be the original Christian faith and maintains the sacred tradition passed down from the apostles.
